Data



Data is raw, unprocessed facts . When you add the two numbers 4 and 6 together, the 4 and the 6 are the data . Data is distinguished from information, which is when a meaning or interpretation has applied. In the above analogy the number 10 would be the information. There is not a whole lot of complexity in the concept of data, it is any sort of that be described as noun that has had nothing done to it by the computer or user. Data is the input that a computer applies it's processes to and eventually is reconstituted as output.
